Therapy is a method of understanding ones own self, through verbalisation and a medium of translating this. But much more is said other than words.
Inspired by the playwright #SamuelBeckett. A Conversation explores the unspoken dialogue between a Therapist and their Patient. Written as an exposition of the mind, it explores taking back control and the loss of that #control.
“ I see people and how they think and how they always want more, just a useless pit of greed and want and greed and want and greed and want and it doesn’t end."
The characters of #Therapist (T) and #Patient (P) constantly swap throughout the play leaving the audience to consider, who really is the patient and who is the therapist.
Structure and Form
The play follows an order of time, in which the youngest member of the cast/crew must pick a number between 60 and 90. For whatever number is chosen that is the however long the play runs for i.e. 70 equates to 70 minutes. If the timer goes off the play must finish. This pays homage to the duration of an average therapy session, and things may not be addressed and answers may not be granted in this time period.
